Based on the CPU-Z data by the reviewer Extreme Player, i9 13900K has base clock of 3.0 GHz and boost in 5.5 GHz to 5.7 GHz range.
Test Set-up Details:
- ASUS ROG Z690 Extreme motherboard
- DDR5 memory at 6400 MT/s
- GPU RTX 3060 Ti
- 1500W power supply
- Thermalright AIO Frozen Magic 360 cooling solution
According to reviewer the 13900K is on average 10% faster in single-core tests than 12900KF and up to 35% faster in multi-threaded workloads.
Raptor Lake’s performance boost in mainly due to higher clock speeds of i9 13900K. When both processors are tested at the same frequency clocks, Both CPUs almost have identical performance in CPU-Z test:
We Don't know how much thermal efficiency is required from the CPU cooler. As the i9 13900K tested in Intel’s own XTU tool reached 100°C peak temperature and began to throttle despite using 360 AIO cooler. Also, the power consumption of PL4 (package) hit as high as 420W.
Intel has not officialy confirmed the launch date for its 13th Gen Core series, but according to rumored timeline, it should become available around October.
